Measuring power consumption

I just ordered a Antec SL400 to replace my generic old 350w PSU. I am curious to see if I get a better power efficiency with the SL400 so what I want to know is if there is a program I can use to measure my current power consumption to compare the two.

Maybe I don't understand the question, but if you are interested in power consumption, I think you are going to have to measure that at the wall, rather than on the CPU (?)

Assuming the former, I can HIGHLY recommend the kill-a-watt device - this thing does exactly that (with some primitive time history) and is pretty darn cheap.

My main use is to balance amperage draw for the various circuits for my 17,000 christmas lights - yes, those were real! ;-)

Yeh I'm not really not trying to spend any money on any devices I'll just check out my next power bill. I'm gonna bet though that it will be less with a brand new antec sp than with my generic psu.

I don't mean to sound like s shill for the Kill-a-Watt device, but it was about $30 ... and it was kinda cool to go around to see how much amps various appliances/etc. were drawing.
