Medal of Honor

We have the box set of Medal of Honor 10th Anniversary. All of the CD ROMs work except War Chest. When we try to start the game, we get the message "Medal of Honor War Chest requires Directx version 8 or higher to run". We then enter OK. Nothing happens, no error, no game, no nothing. I ran dxdiag and found out we have DirectX version 10 installed on our machine. Can you help us? My son has waited months and months to play this game.

Hi

Couple of thoughts and things for you to try to get this game running are:

1. Right Click the games exe file and choose Run as Administrator
2. Some games still need some older DirectX9 dll files to run so install Directx 9c* and see if that clears this up, I had to do this with a demo of a fairly new game last week as I needed a D3D9X_24.dll file that doesnt come with either Vista or Windows 7 that I was running at the time as by default Vista has DirectX10 and Windows 7 has DirectX11.

*would have linked to the full redistributable file we list on Majorgeeks but dont know off hand how that could affect Vista, the web installer just installs some D3D files that are needed.

OK, I feel like an idiot. But I am posting so that if others are reading this it might help. I discovered that Medal of Honor War Chest is a disc made up of music and interviews with individuals who fought in the war. So, the disc is played by Windows MediaPlayer.
