Hi all. this's my first post and if I can get some help with this one, I'll try and balance out the universe by helping someone else with their problem. Maybe.

Media player classic has put all the other players I use to shame - especially with my multi screen setup (I'd had problems with full screen etc) - but I'm struggling to enqueue files in the playlist. I normally right-click and choose to queue, but the options are only there for WMP, winamp and realplayer etc. how in the hey do you queue with this program? I can't open the playlist and add files either.

    Help me superman!

What version of Media Player are you talking about?

In version 9 you should be able to right click on an item that you want to queue then click the Queue-it-up option.

I believe this individual is talking about Media player classic, and not windows media player.

    You can try the following.....
Goto start, settings, control panel, Folder Options
Then select the "File Types" tab
scroll down till you get .mp3 (within the "Registered file types:" section)
    next highlight .mp3
    click the Advanced button
under action, select "Enqueue in Winamp"
    click Edit.

Where it says action, change winamp to Media player classic (or whatever you wish)
under "application used to perform action:" Type in:
    "D:\program files\Media Player Classic\mplayerc.exe" /ADD "%1" (keep all quotes in place)

Change D to your location of mpc....

Hit, ok, ok, close...right click your .mp3 select enqueue in mpc, and you should be good to go...

Yes, you can change this in the registry:

    HKEY_Classes_Root\Winamp.file\shell\Enqueue\command\
Change the (Default) path to your path of mplayer classic....

I hope this is what you were wanting.....

You're spot on with what I'm after and I appreciate your help, but I'm really trying to do this with mpegs and avi files. The advanced tab doesn't appear and I can't find an option in the location you suggested to fix this. I know that you're close though so if you could help me past the finish line, you'd single-handedly solve my video stresses (and anyone else with similar problems). :D

Sorry, I've come back to this after coming back from the pub and wasn't thinking clearly. I've taken a closer look and I can do everything that you directed, but the path that you specified is not valid in my program files on my main hard drive (C). I tried to enter the path C:\program files\Media Player Classic\mplayerc.exe" /ADD "%1" and it wasn't recognised. I've looked, and there isn't an entry for MPC in my program files.

It really depends on which Media Player Classic you are using.

Did you install it, or are you using the one included in your version of Windows?

The one in XP is located in C:\Windows\System 32.

Regardless, right-click your shortcut you use to start the program and then properties to find the folder path.

If you are using mplayerc.exe that is from the k-lite mega codec pack. Which I thought you were referring to. Now, the location that I was refering to, was for my own computer (at work :) ). Yes, you can change this for .mpegs, .avi's, or whatnot. Just takes some time and effort.

So, the question is this. When you are referring to media player classic, do you mean:
    windows media player 9, 10?
Media Player Classic (from the k-lite codec pack)
    mplay32
    or
    mplayer2
    ???

It's mplayerc.exe version 6.4.8.4. I downladed it seperate from the codec pack from a site on the net. It's by gabest apparently. I can't find any reference to it in program files at all

Do you have a shortcut to the program? If so, check the properties of the shortcut and you will get the path.

Or just search for that executable.

hi. thanks for all your help. the problem was that the shortcut wasn't on my primary drive so i struggled to find it. I've managed to get it working right now though. cheers.
