Media Player ?

I just put a new 200GB drive in my system. I went with a fresh install from the disk of XP with SP2. I have 1 GB of ram and an ATI All in wonder radion 9600 video card. This set up has worked well for me over the past year. Other than the OS I have Pinnacle Studio 10.5 and Ulead photo impact pro 10.0 and Nero 6.6.1.4 installed. Thats all. I have defragged the HD after installation and every thing is running great. Now the issue if I play any tipe of MP3, WMA or MPG file they are jerky. As to say they will open and proceed to play normally for a few seconds. then jump ahead of themselvs and then start playing normally again. This will happen when I use windows media player (V10) or nero player. I suspect its a setting somewhere but I cant find anything that works. Any ideals?
