Media Player

For some reason I keep getting a Windows update EVERY morning fo Windows Media Player Script Security Update. I have updated this about 10 times.......but I keep getting the same update every morning. After I update it says......." Update sucessful................But I guess it's NOT!! Can someone tell me what to do please?

can you uninstall WMP 10
and try to reinstall

I have WMP 9.......because WMP 10 is for XP users not ME users, I've tried to upgrade and they tell me I have the newest version.......but when I go to Windows update........I still get the same message........"your update was sucessful" I tried to uninstall and reinstall but I get the same thing

 

OK.........here's another issue and I'm not sure if it has anything to do with my problem but..........when I go to Add/Remove and I click on Windows set-up I get a messege " RUNDLL- 32 has caused an error and will now close"......Do you have any idea why?

 

Go to C:\Windows and look for layout.inf file/s and rename these to layout.old, reboot & you should now have regained access to the Windows Add/Remove Windows Setup screen.

It is now safe to delete the layout.old files if you wish.
