I use, WMP, Creative and Nero 8. This maybe a silly question but is there a way I can title the items on a CD, copy them and put them on a CD label? Everytime I try to copy just the names of the files the entire format(recordings and all copy). Any ideas? THank you in advance for your thoughts.

What are you playing the cd in? Some devices won't read the files if you manually rename them.

As for getting the files names to a cd label, you can open the detailed list view in Nero/WMP, take a screenshot (printscreen key), paste it in your cd label program.

    Hi

Do the tracks that you are copying to CD already have the proper track names associated to them? if so them Nero 8 has a Cover Designer built in to aid you in printing Jewel case and cd labels, here are the manuals for all the various components in Nero 8 http://www.nero.com/enu/support-nero8-helpfiles.html

But hopefully this very quick guide of mine may help.

Open Nero Express and choose the type of Audio CD you want, then drop the tracks in that you are to burn as below.

    http://img366.imageshack.us/img366/7839/75243182be7.jpg

then once the tracks are all in click next and untick label as circled in red and click Create Covers and Labels circled in blue,

    http://img366.imageshack.us/img366/7564/49018536ew2.jpg

Once the New Document page shows choose the type of label you wish to create and click OK, then you will have a blank CD label in front of you, so click the icon circled in red ( which is the track lister tool ) and drag a box in the label space as shown and your tracks will automatically be added, then you can edit the text if you wish as well as create the back label and if you have printable CDs or sticky CD labels those too with the tabs at bottom.

So if you do wish to change th eauto filled text, then double click inside the text box and this window will show which will allow you to remove whatever data you wish

as I removed the Artist Name so just track number > track name > track time and changed font and colour.

Then Print, BUT you do not need to continue to burn the CD if you do not wish to, end the application.

Or you can search online at places like Amazon for the album you have and if found they have track lists of whats on the CD so copy and paste that text into a Nero Create Label template or a Word template for a CD label ( page size 12cm x 12cm )

Or you can use JR Directory Printer ( does work in Vista too as I use this app alot, but needs to be run as Admin ) to create a text file of any folders files and these are easy copy and paste into say a Word template designed for a CD case label ( page size 12cm x 12cm )

If the tracks dont have proper names when dragged into Nero then you may have to nanually name them, or if they do have some sort of name ( screenshot of the file names you have will give me a picture of what your music files are named ) then an application like MP3Tag may help to correctly tag them http://www.majorgeeks.com/download5817.html
