media stumper

...ok this is sort of on the same line as "Media player problem MrPewty" thread but a bit deferent, the deference is, i have two media formats i want to back up one is .m2v and the other is .mpg. now, i backed up the .m2v with no problems at all and along with MrPewty same problem with some of the .mpg files not playing when i go to back them up, my pc completely freezes up around 30% to 50% burn i have tried many times so i thought, well, i'll just try to zip the files and the same thing, completely freezes up, just with the .mpg files, i have never heard of this problem so i have no idea what it could be, any ideas.?
