I swear I looked everywhere for a more extensive review than "that's what your looking for" or "I prefer it". Is this really a decent program?
I'm reinstalling all of the software on my pc and I need a new and free music library program. I had iTunes before, but I had issues with it and it ended up really annoying me. I hate having to manually add tracks or albums individually. I want something that will scan my hard drive and just add them.
FYI, I've tried Windows Music Media Center (no thanks), Real Player (I ended up getting a virus that attached itself to one of the .dll files).
    Thanks for any input!

i've used it a little, and it seemed to work as advertised. sorry i can't be more specific, other than to say that it plays mp3's and other media just fine. my motto is try them all and use the one you like the best. i say the same for windows media player too. another one i've tinkered with is songbird.

I've used it off and on for a few years and would say it's a good all around player/library app. It plays lots of formats such as flac, shn, ogg which is what I need in a player. Has a decent library and can scan defined locations to add media. It will also accept most media players you connect to it.

Windows Media Player (my favorite library due to it's ease of adding categories, genres, drag & drop etc) and iTunes have better library features but iTunes is a resource hog and neither have a lot of the formats.

Winamp is always installed on my PC's for it's library, codec options, plugins and ease of customization.

I have yet to find the one app that does it all well...

Thanks for the opinions. I went ahead and downloaded it. I really loved the fact that it automatically searched and retrieved the files on my external as well as the few on my pc.
I wish that it had a filter (maybe I missed it) to not download duplicates. I'll have to tinker around and see if there is something automatic that I can do. Otherwise, I'll be going through 12,000+ tracks.
    Again, thanks!
