Just a random thought.....Curious....... I could be wrong, and I apologize if I am, it would not be the first time I was wrong nor will it be the lastLOL, and maybe it is just me rolleyes, but at times it almost seems like there is one person having a conversation with themselves by using more than one member identity to reply to themselves in threads, most often in the Lounge.
Am I the only one who thinks this? :confused

I can't say I noticed it but don't that doesn't mean it can't be happening. Stranger things have happened. :-D

Like when I was waiting for the bus to come to work yesterday and there was this guy have a full on conversation with himself using two different voices. A girly voice and a manly voice. It would have been funny if it wasn't so creepy.

That is scary or a skit for Candid Camera.:-D At any rate I bet you did not sit by them on the bus.;)
As for here in the Forum it is just seemed to be a similarity in the nature of the post and the way sentences are formed and choice of words used. Just random maybe.:confused

We don't allow multiple log ins. If you suspect someone has more than one user account, let us know.

I understand TimW. Coincidence probably. There are so many devises to have access to login with now days though.

I talk to myself ALL the time. In public too. It's a good defence mechanism. :-D

It does seem like it's only me that attracts the weirdos. Why??!? LOL

Haha it can be but do you carry on a conversation with yourself using two different voices? :-D

I would hope so. Otherwise, it would seem weird.

As a software developer, I can tell you, I talk to myself a lot.

    I answer too.

I used to talk to myself, but I angered myself with a careless comment, and have been ignoring myself until such time as myself will deign to apologize to myself.

    That'll show me who's boss!

If you talk to and answer yourself out loud (I call it thinking out loud) then you're probably normal as most people I know have done or do this.

However, if you carry on full conversations with yourself using two different voices as if you were two separate people, well... You might just be headed for crazy town.:-D

As long as you don't have loud, heated arguments with yourself, jk. :)
I suspect someone with multiple identities here is trying to promote some type of personal agenda.

I admit I occasionally say something to myself out loud but I never answer myself back and it would be pointless to argue with myself since I already know I am right.:p

I never argue with myself but sometimes I'll think of a question in my head and then answer it out loud. Only after I get some strange looks do I realize I said what I was thinking out loud. LOL

Katkat, I totally agree with you and its not difficult for us to spot any member that has multiple accounts, may take a few weeks to get around to checking certain things that ID a person (we can do and I do check IPs of banned members and suspected spammers), but we do retrospectively review IPs of banned members.

We also rely on members of the forum to alert us to such previously banned members also.

This is a little off topic but not important enough to start a new thread.;)

I keep a Facebook account just to keep up with some family that live far away. Ever since I got a new modem/router from my internet provider about a year or so ago my Facebook shows my login is from a state all the way across the country. Someone said it was a factory setting in the modem but on a rare occasion it has me logged in from the right state but the wrong city.:confused Just find it weird!
Just wondered if anyone else has had that happen.

    Hi Katkat

Your modem may at times show your ISP as its direct location and not yours, this is normal, my location from my ISP is 40 miles from where I am but its likely that its the location of the server.

    What David said.

Plus, if you do a search about it in regards to FB, it seems very common (apparently particularly for mobile devices).

OK thanks! I get the different city in my state as being my server. The all the way across the country different state thing confused me. I never login to FB from mobile though.
I know Facebook tracks for advertising(and who knows what other reasons) and it shows that when the advertisements showing on my page are from the state across the country where it says I am logged in from. If t wasn't for family connections I would not bother with Facebook account.

    Hi

I have FB account but never really use it, just had it to find a few friends, likely as I have not used it in a year I have loads of messages! ooops! must remember password and login to account to check.

Yeah servers to various applications could be in various locations, if you use Cell, then it will likely show the cell tower location you are near, then if you home it will likely show the server that your ISP uses.
