For those of you who were born before or during WWII, these should bring back some old memories. Sure did for me.
I remember ALL of these things. Times were surely different then.

I was born in 1947 and remember growing up in the 50s n 60s since those times everything has got smaller Radios/telephones/hamburgers except TV which have got bigger.
I can not say those times were better but we did not seem to be so self centered and greedy then, boy i miss my youth.

Jeez ya, I remember a few of those. Hula-hoops, rabbit ears, we had a an ice-box though, ya know a huge ice cube where the freezer went, amazing how long they could keep ice in the warehouse until the next freeze-up of the river. Brownie cameras and metal ice-cube trays which crushed the ice. Now that I think of it, I could have immersed the tray in some water to loosen the cubes up. I think I still have one down in the dungeon.:-D Born in '53 here.

Oh ya, forgot about rotary phones and party lines which I still had into the nineties. Man, the phone company still charges a fee for digital connection!:eek Maybe I'll go back to rotary to save $25 a year.

@ Bill, welcome back after losing some metal. Will you still set off metal detectors?:-D

Still holds true today. With her thumb firmly planted on her husband's forehead.
Were people really that colour in the 50s?

    Thanks Augie.
I still have plenty of metal left inside, 2X6 inch titanium rods and 6 long screws in my back and those will stay for life,A shorter version of the same in my neck that will also stay plus a metal hip replacement so i have enough for the metal detectors. (it's a hoot in the airport)

Don't want to hijack the thread, my last post on this.
the screws are what they took out on monday and the other is some of the metal they left in.

Funny thing happened in my Gyn office once with a gal who got some S&H Green Stamps mixed up with a kleenex in her purse. She blotted with the wrong thing and I just HAD to say something when I went to examine her and found them stuck you-know-where. Hilarious. And, yes, she kept coming in after that. We became the best of friends. Had lots of funny patients like her.
I should have written that book.

OMG, I heard that story long ago only came from a friend who said it happened to her.
You didn't have a practice in Ventura California by any chance did you?

Not much bothered her. We were water skiing once and her foam enhancements popped to the top of the water, another woman and I were trying to bring it to her attention before the men saw. When she did see them she laughed and threw them on the boat deck in front of everyone.

No, I practiced my entire career in Houston. True story though. Many others, some a bit TOO funny to mention here.

So your friend lost her floaties, huh? Bet that was a gas.

Then your story has become folklore, my daughter moved to Oregon a few years ago and heard the same story there, it really got around. :-D
I'll have to tell her, "I know where it started" ;)

I "have" told it to more than a few people, but I doubt that I started it. There were many stamp redemption companies in the 60's and 70's. I'm sure I wasn't the only gynecologist to see a buttcheek about to be mailed to some location using the "wrong" stamp. lol.

Better daily. Now after only15 days, I can take a full deep breath and actually cough, if I support my ribs. Down to only 2 vicodin daily. And I can sleep nearly all night.
Thanks for asking. I am going to survive, but my golf game may not.
