Hi Geeks, I am burning a chip today. Please answer this question--If I have a PC100 SDRAM memory stick--can it be put into a 133 System? Or is that the other way around--you cannot put a PC133 stick into a 100 system? And does this also apply to DDR RAM as well? Thanks

the other way around, PC100 can't always run at PC133, so it's not worth trying. same with DDR.

Thanks Flep, so you are saying that I cant put the 133 Stick into a 100 system? and the 100 Stick will not always work in a 133 system?
Hey, that looks like a serious machine. You like your AMD64 I bet. I am going to upgrade my P4 1.3 (one of the first P4's) machine soon and I would love to build one with an AMD64. But the price is high.

No, PC100 will not work in PC133 machines (in 99%) but PC133 can run in PC100 machines, albeit at PC100 speeds.
And yes, the Athlon64 machine is quite fast indeed :)

Yer? I swear I've put a stick of PC100 into a PC133 system and it ran just fine -- albiet at PC100 speeds.
