Memory Card Reader!!!

Please help with the following:
OPTEX DIGITAL MEMORY CARD READER SD, MMC, MINI-SD, RS-MMC

Model No: OSDRDR


I purchased it and cannot write all my pictures to my 1 gig SD card. It will write about 331 mb and then it comes up with a failure – cannot copy picture XXXX – The directory or file cannot be created. So I cannot get all my pictures onto my memory card from my computer. I just want to copy all my pictures to the memory card. ~ 800 mb of pic’s. Is there a problem with these units? I tried different SD cards and the same thing happens. I even tried formatting the cards first and it still doesn’t work past the 312 mb mark. I have windows XP – 2 gig ram (DDR) – 250 gig HDD – P4. I have no other issues with my computer.



Should I instead make file folders instead of trying to transfer all the pic’s in one shot? I have even tried to copy and paste just one pic after the 312 have been transferred and it will not do it.



Should I return this unit and get a different one or a different brand?

 

Are there any hints or something I should try?

Since other cards behave in the same way in your reader, try having the reader replaced under warranty.

 

It's not a firmware issue do you think?

Has anyone else ever been able to tranfer Pic (JPEG) 1 gig to a SD card? Is there a special method to do that?

As I have never attempted this before....

Try the format option again.

1. Go to my computer.

2. Right click on your device.

3. Click format (full format)

4. Click FAT32 full erase (to do this it must be on a windows xp system).

5. Try the transfer again.
