memory check

hi can anybody help me, when i 1st start up it does a memory check everytime and i have to hit esc to cancel it does anybody know how to stop this is it on cmos?

Hi

If you leave the memory check does it finish and windows load ok?

But to stop the memory check you will have to enter the BIOS and look for either Fast Boot/Quick Boot ( Depending on Bios make ) and enable it or Disable Memory Check, then Save and Exit the Bios.

To enter your make of Bios the key/s to press will show up quickly at boot, but depending on system their are many permutations of key/s to press... common ones being DEL, F2

yeh windows loads up but the check takes a while. ive looked in bios and it says memory check is disabled?? rolleyes

Did you also check for FastBoot/QuickBoot options?

Or its very possible that your Bios does not allow you to bypass a smaller memory self test.

Whats the motherboard make and version name?

What Windows version do you have?

How long does the check take, a while to you maybe different to me?

Are you sure it windows doing the memory check?

Some anti-virus/spyware programs have the option to scan the memory before the operating system loads.
