I recently had a new motherboard replaced in my computer by the manufacturer.

Upon boot up, I noticed that the DDR rate was 333 and not DDR 400 (PC3200/DDR400 memory).

I contacted the computer manufacturer and they stated that some motherboard Bios' are sensitive to different memory since their specs (e.g. latency) are different. The Bios defaults to a lower number. I can change this manually but it may lead to instability.

Separately, they read DDR 400, but together they read DDR 333.

Buffalo and Kingston memory. (Is any better than the other?)

    ??????????

Kingston is better, post the specs as written on the side of memory remove it if you have to,if they are both ddr 400 they should run at ddr 400,If the comp wont boot at ddr 400 drop the latencies down in bios:)
