Will be selling my HP Color Laser Jet 2840 soon. What do I need to clear/erase to insure there is nothing personnel left on it? Thanks. -Bob

If it's just a basic home or small office printer that you do not have a hard drive installed in, there should be no need to do anything. In this case, it's your PC(s) that store the data - once it prints, any RAM memory in the printer erases itself.

When I did a search for the 2840 I came across a parts list and it looked like there was a hard disk available - doesn't mean my does, of course. If there was a hard disk, would it show up in Devices under Control Panel? Thanks. -Bob

The hard drive is almost always a user-installed option. If you bought it "off the shelf" it's unlikely one is installed.
