    Hello Everyone,

My mobo is a GA-M61SME-S2 which stated on their website can support up to 8GB memory ddr2, I am trying to install 4GB 2 x 2GB sticks of ddr2 when installed my computer don't boot up at all nothing comes on the screen.

When I take out the 2gb stick and replace it with a 512mb stick computer boots up no problems.

Can anyone help me with this?

    Many Thanks

    Andy

    Hey sexy :D

Try putting them in different slots, and make double sure they are seated right (sometimes they can be a pain to get right the way in)

Also what OS and is it 64 or 32?

    Both are DIMMS.

    Hello Digitalocksmith,

If I put one 2GB stick in, it boots no problems it comes up with the new new memory amount and everything is normal, But if I take it out and put the other 2GB stick on its own I found out that it dosn't even load up with that stick.

It's come to my conclusion that it don't like the stick of memory so I'm going to take it back to shop and swap for another stick or my money back.

    Just out of curiosity,

what is the bare minimum memory required to run windows vista 32 bit? as I trying to think if 2.5GB Ram is enough for the computer or shall I try to go to 4GB

    Many Thanks

I have taken the faulty stick back to the store and they are going to get a technician to test it and if they can't get it to work then probably looking at swapping for another stick.

But I was advised to take in the other stick so they can match with the same stick to make the pair.

Just got to wait now and see what happens.

Just a update on the memory situation,

I have got a swap for another 2GB stick and it's the same make as the first one and I installed in to my computer and hey bristo it works. I now have a computer with 4GB Ram installed.

Thanks for all your help guys it was well appreciated.
