Hey everyone. I have a few Power Edge SC1425 rack servers that we are upgrading the memory in. the current memory we have in all of them is listed as: 2GB 2Rx4 PC2-3200R-333-12-J3

I am looking for more memory to add to new servers (exact same model) and I found this: 2Rx4 PC2-3200R-333-12-J2

Both are listed as "IBM pulls"

I have used HP Pulls with the same specs as the first pne listed here (2GB 2Rx4 PC2-3200R-333-12-J3)

The only difference I see is the "J2" vs. "J3" at the end of the specification. Does anyone know what this last bit of the specs stand for?

Looking at this, my "guess" is it has to do with one of the "generation" details - like a "lot" or possibly revision number.

If me, what I would probably do is pull the J2 modules from some servers and use them to upgrade your other J2 servers. Then buy J3 modules to re-populate the remaining servers so all the RAM in any given server is the same.
