I have the demo version of a game I want to get to see if my comp can cope with it, and it does, except for the memory! Therefore i am wonderin if there are any programs that set a programs' priority to memory, so that programs that I am not using (whilst gaming) are sent to save their memory on the hard drive, and the memory that the game uses on the chips (DDR2 RAM) (so that it goes at a decent speed!)

A program that sets each process a prority to RAM memory would be the sort of thing i am looking for!

In case you are wondering the game is crysis (and it is brilliant!)

    please help!:)

    Specs?

    What version of Windows?

I think you will find that Windows already does a good job of this, but lets here your specs and such first.

    intel core 2 duo 2.13ghz
    1 gig of RAM
    nvidia GeForce 7900GS graphics
    a sound card ? (5.1)
    250gb hard drive
    windows XP home

nd i only know that windows works out how to prioritise processor usage, but i cant work out how to tell it to pile only certain programs onto the hard drive

basicaly i want to run a game and have that using only RAM and not to end up using the ahrd drive (and btw i have got rid of virtualy every process before playing, so no memory space can be found there)

    thanks!

Windows puts things on the backburner when it goes into a background task, which is virtually everything when playing a game. Thats ram and CPU usage. To be quite blunt, you don't have near enough ram to be running a hardcore game.

You cant simply starve the entire OS and associated apps of ram and put it to a foreground task without crashing the entire system.

Ok, i was just wandering because i only need about 20mb extra on RAM to play the game on good settings but thanks for your help anyways :)
