memory problem

hi everyone

i have a slight problem with my memory..
windows and other programs are eating a very worring lot of memory RAM.
i have 8 GB of memory and i actualy have only 1.2 GB avaible:confused
this for me a little bit strange that my computer eating around 4 GB of memory alonge for hardware:confused
i have collect some data from my comp and maybe there is a way too free up a lot of memory..
the data:
1)
on the sourcecheck of the comp i see this;
reserved for hardware: 4937 MB
in use: 2128 MB
altered: 47 MB
standby: 1004 MB
available: a amazing 80 MB!

wow that cleared a lot up! thanks!
but stil a have little problem because if i read the article correct then all the gray for hardware is not available.
that's with me up to 4800 MB's!
it that normal for a windows 7?

Normal - no, it looks like your motherboard has a compatibility problem somewhere, look for a BIOS update for it.
