So I checked all the other memory threads alreasy and haven't seen this question, so here goes...

I am upgrading an old computer for someone to learn the basics of computing on. Memory definitely needs an upgrade. Is it ok to buy used memory, or should I buy new regardless? I already know the "things I need to know" to upgrade properly, this is my only question.

    Thanks!! ;)

Then I will keep it simple:

    Memory is cheap.
Used memory is fine and even cheaper.

Finding new memory for older computers can be a tad more difficult, but not always.

If I can find it cheaper, I would buy it used.

Thanks so much! That just saved me about $70. My boss hired someone for me to train as my replacement managing a business (I'm getting promoted!!), but she literally has NEVER used a computer. :confused How? I have no clue, but she needs to learn to do the job. I'm just giving her my old Dell clunker from 8 or 9 years ago. Anything is better than nothing... Thanks again!!
