When I plug my memory stick into a USB slot, it is recognised by the PCs I use but says "please insert a disk into drive E".
I've checked that drive E has not been duplicated, have tried the stick on many machines and a couple of OSs (XP and 2000) and have tried to format it but cannot get further than the above message.
Before I bin it, what else can I try?

I had a similar problem with my usb mp3 player (a jumped up memory stick), including the 'please insert disk' message. i actually took it out of my waste paper bin after i'd given up on it. i recovered it with the original installation software from the manufacturer. that's your only hope with it. trust me, i tried everytyhing else.
