memory upgrade problem help with bios update

I just upgraded my meory, and it turns out that windows cant recognize the 128 mb memory. It sees it as 64 megs. SO the problem lies in the bios. I wish to upgrade the bios and since the computer is an old packard bell model 880 i searched bios-drivers.com and got some driver. The question is how do i flash the bios.

2. Also where else can i get the correct bios?
3. How to flash it.

no the pc can take up to 256, but i need to update the bios. i just dont know what to trust.

 

I have a feeling that this isn't a Windows or a BIOS issue. Some older mobos are picky about the SDRAM modules they support, for instance a 'double sided' 128 may not be supported and be seen as a 64.

However, having said that, I think updating the BIOS is worth a try. Just don't be surprised if that doesn't correct the problem...
