Hi. IDK what's going on with my system. I have an HP Win7 64-Bit. AMD Six-Core 3.3Ghz & 10Gb Ram. My windows experience rating is only 5.0 in Computer properties, lol. I know, One would think it would be higher. Well, I haven't formatted in about almost two years. I know one should try to do that at least once a year, so you always have a clean system. But it really gets tiring formating, and re-installing everything back.
I usually run CCleaner and stuff to make sure it runs free of clutter and other stuff that might just decrease its speed. I run Ableton Live sometimes to mess around with music production, and It's lagging and so annoying now.
About a month ago, I noticed that while my CPU remains at a normal 2-10% (Depending what's open), my memory has been drastically high.
    Like from 40%-80%.
    I closed dropbox, it's probably something that's starting. I have that free Startup CPL program and this is what I have starting up on boot up;

    KeyScrambler
    SDTray
    ZALFree Antilogger
    ZoneAlarm
    Peerblock
    Sidebar
    Onedrive
    Spotify Web Helper
    Hydra Vision Desktop Manager

    Thanks in advance. :)

Open Task Manager, select the Processes tab, click Show processes from all users, and then Maximize Task Manager.
Click the Memory tab. You'll see what's using the RAM.

The underlying question is this: Do you face problems on your system when running programs.
If not, then memory use is a total irrelevance. It's there to be used.Period.
You also seem to have a number of useless programs installed that I would never use. They use CPU and memory.

The rating is determined by the lowest item. What has a 5?
    Processor
    Memory
    Graphics
    Gaming Graphics
    Primary Hard Disk

Once you know what the weakest link is, you might be able to change it out for something better.

I never hear that you need to format a computer yearly. Can you post a link. I NEVER format my computers. I take out the rubbish, store files off the computer and image about every 4 - 6 weeks. I do not format any of the computers. We currently have 7 in the house and 4 of them are used almost daily. (An XP offline, an old 7" linux netbook and an old 2K are fired up every few months).

Have you run any Anti virus or malware scans lately.

If there is malware running in the backround it could be eating up RAM.
