Memory Used by SP2

Hello MGs,
The recent question about installing SP2 reminded me of a question I have been meaning to ask.

A friend of mine who works with computers frequently told me that I should download SP2 because of the holes it plugs up in SP1, but that if I did this it would take up considerable hard drive space. Can you verify this? Also, is SP2 still available for download? Thanks as always for your help.

His signature says he runs XP Professional.
Yes, SP2 is available for download, just go to Windows Update and get it. Get the ;other updates as well, but don't use the Drivers updates, get those from the manufacturer.

Whats the total size of your Windows folder now? ( mine with allsorts of additives and SP2 is 3.75gb... not too large really )

as for SP2 download, well like eric said you have Windows Update, which will download and install only the updated bits you need or you can download the full package here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...BE-3B8E-4F30-8245-9E368D3CDB5A&displaylang=en ( 270+mb )
