memory

    Hi guys i got a AMD Atlon 2800 with 240v 400w power supply and 2x 512mb of memory, my manual says i can go upto 3gb of memory, i only want 2gb so went to buy 1gb, on crucial .coms scanner it says i can only have 3x512mb, what will happen if i fit another 1gb, i dont want to blow my comp up but what do i go by manual or crucial scanner, please advice ?

    you might want to check another site, like kingston.com, or pny.com, etc. is your comp a manufactured comp (ie - dell, gateway, etc)? if so, you can check on there. if not, then check your m/b site.i don't think you'd blow it up, but i don't know if it would bootup or not (maybe someone else would know the answer to that question)?

    i'd wait on trying it, unless your positive your'd get your money back if it's installed? - sos
