    How do I find out what type of memory I have on my computer? I'm operating Windows XP on this computer.

    I would go to a site like http://www.crucial.com and run there memory scanner

    You could give us your pc Make and model and we can look it up for you.

    It's a Gateway mod.# PB1 E-4500D

    Looks like it supports 4 GB max ram so it looks like 1 GB max per slot. You need DDR2-PC4200 or DDR2-PC5300 ram.

    I would use DDR2-PC4200 to match the speed with the ram you have now.
