many thanks to those who answered my last thread i found your advice very useful, now i'm afraid i have another problem for you! I have decided to fit more memory to my laptop (lenovo 3000 g530 win 7 pro 1gig ram) i borrowed a 512 meg memory card from a friend, it was exactly the same as the original card(2r*16 pc2 5300s) only the manufacturer is different(hynix-samsung)they both work on their own although the 512m card is slower and only scores 2 on the windows experience(4.5 for the 1 gig card) when they are put in together my laptop does not seem any faster and the window experience score remains at 4.5 the memory is recognised as more than before(1.5gig) and usage is down by a fair bit(8 - 10%)should i try more memory or have i done something wrong, i would be gratefull of any advice you could give me
    thanks

thanks for the quick response falconattack, one question though, can i use a usb memory stick instead of burning to disc, as i have no discs available to me at the moment.
    thanks

thanks for the reply, i managed to boot from the usb stick by changing the boot order in the bios, i ran the test for over 5 hours (12 passes) but no errors
were found so it looks like the memory is ok, i have run similar mem tests before but no problems have been found, something i forgot to add, my cpu usage goes to over 90% when i run certain programs ie. livewire, a circuit simulator and celestia, a solar system simulator, but it has done this since new(june 2011)
    can anyone help?

Do this tips : Start - Run msconfig - in third tab Startup - remove boxes apart from antivirus programme - Push Apply - Ok - windows will ask you to restart - do it - afterwards your machine will be speedier than before !! :wave

thanks for the reply falconattack but the only startup program i have had for a longtime is synaptics pointing device, i once removed this from startup and i then had to do a system restore to switch off tap to click, so i leave this alone
