memtest help

i just downloaded the memtest on this site but after i click to open it it asks me what to open it up in im not sure witch one to pick or what to do. i thank i need help confused 'edit' by the way i did download this to a floppy so in a way i have two questions i need to know how to do the boot thing were it dose it on its own and how to do it once the computer is all ready on thanx

Try this method since you have a floppy drive:

Download the Memtest file to your desktop. Right-click on the Memtest icon and choose Open With > Compressed (zipped)Folders.

That will open a window that shows a folder named "floppy" double-click that folder to open it.

Now double-click on install (the one with a gear on it). A command window will pop up asking you for a location of your disk drive. Insert a blank floppy disk into the floppy drive, then enter the letter of the drive (usually the letter a) then just follow the prompts.

After it creates the floppy, simply boot your PC with the disk still in the drive and run the test as advised.

NOTE: Memtest might take several hours, so be prepared to wait when you decide to use it.
