Menu bar disappears

I am sure this is a simple problem, but I can't figure it out. I use Vista and Internet Explorer. After all this time, suddenly my menu bar disappears at the top of the screen, and only appears if I run my cursor up along there.
This is an annoying problem.

I would sure be grateful to know the solution.

And now the start button has also disappeared too.

 

Hello, Conklin :wave Altho it may be annoying, you may like to use it if you are playing a game.. It will give you full screen, which is nice once in a while, but not all the time.. I found it by accident, myself.

Sometimes there's a simple solution for a simple problem. Have you inadvertently clicked the 'full-screen icon' at the top right-hand corner of the screen, that automatically creates a full-screen (and takes away the Menu bar and Task bar and Start buttom). If you have the 'double-square icon' in that space, then you did click it, and all you have to do is to click it again to regain the normal screen with all of your tool bars and Start button.

To prevent this from happening in the future, some of the apps/screens have an option to keep the particular toolbar on top of other windows. For example, on your Desktop, you can right-click on the Taskbar, select Properties, and select "keep the taskbar on top of other windows."
