message box!!!!

my message box has change colour back to kakhi and the spell check dont work again. what the ****. can some one please explain this in easy terms ?????

mine is tan. but it might always be tan....i dont know- never pay much attention to it.

I never did see a spell check here at MG, I always was a asking....I just use my ms office, and cut and paste.....wobbles

 

the colors of the sitess features are dictated by the CSS design. You're stuck with it..

 

kodo what is the CSS . why did it change for two days or whatever, and why did it change back?

Its how real webdesigners do their work.
It means that you can change attributes to all the pages by just changing one style sheet....


A style sheet can dictate things like colors, fonts, stuff like that that the web page has.

 

no, i downloaded iespell check. it works everywhere but here! then when my box changed to white it suddenly did work. now my box has changed back and it doesnt.! EXPLAIN.

 

CSS is a formatting language for controlling the display of websites. It stands for Cascading Style Sheets. It changes because the owners change it OR sometimes differences in how browsers interpret CSS can be different. For instance: in Opera, the box shows up white. In IE and FireFox, box is light green ( or whatever color you want to call it, but it isn't white )

So, given that: Either MA or CP changed the color or you switched browsers and experienced the inconsistencies amongst them.

 

Did you get on the "try the Mozilla browser" bandwagon and start using a different web browser, laurieB?

 

i didnt switch browsers, so that leaves MG or CP. who or what is CP. why havnt they all changed back? (canofzoo's changed to white the same time mine did, but has stayed that way) if its simply a change of style why will the iespell only work on white? why kodo why?

 

Mine's white and I'm running Firefox.

 

ps im running IE but i havnt changed anything.

 

aside from all this.. really, what difference does it make?

 

BECAUSE THE IESPELL CHECK DOESNT WORK ON KAKHI. that was the question kodo. why does it only work on white.?

not that I'm aware of, but there is a 3rd party spell checker ( I believe ) that she had installed.

 

yes iespell. its not on the tools. its on right click. it works really well by the way, just not on MG?

right!!! good morning people. first abby sue, , this changed all on its own. i diddnt change anything, either time. so its something to do with MG. the reply boxs (both the 'quick reply and the regular reply box) changed from kakhi to white a few days ago, and then back to kakhi yesterday. i was not the only one who's reply boxes changed colour. some changed, some didnt. some changed back, some didnt. the odd thing is the iespell. it only works on white. highlighting doesnt make a difference. i dont no how to post the page to show you the kakhi bos. someone else posted a page showing the white box on the previous thread surrounding this issue (on saturday i think). i will go and check what editor i am using.

 

bingo. Ive changed to standard and lo....the box changed to white. and lo....the spell check works again. its not the same box as appeared over the weekend but it doesn't matter.

roddinron. thanx for the compliment pal. i know that my spelling falls into the 'OK' bracket, but my vocabulary is large and the bigger the word, the more likely to bet it wrong. eg. the difference between 'ence and ance' or how many t's or l's in something. in addition to picking up what could be called minor errors (in so much as few people notice these things) it also picks up on my typos.....and thats another ballgame.

So it sounds like IESPELL has a problem with the wysiwyg editor in advanced mode.

that's never happend to me that I can recall. I do copy and paste frequently with posting links etc and sometimes news stories in the Links section. I have seen others attempt to paste and it not showing up and all you see is a few HTML tag lines. I insist this has to do with the HTML wysiwg (javascript) editor that the software uses to format text. I recommend only pasting to an ASCII text editor like notedpad as it removes ANY HTML formatting the software might misinterpret and then copy - paste to the box. Don't use MS-WORD as it's basic / default format is HTML.

If you do, you might want to try the "remove text formatting" button the double A with the red X ove r it.

 

fyi - (to those that care) it is only the enhanced mode that has returned to kakhi coloured. the standard and basic are still white. (they didnt used to be).
the iespell has something to do with the coloured background......but i dont understand what. if it helps anybody i use IE.

 

actually its possible that if the option is set to enhanced by default then its always been on that. i therefore wouldnt know if the basic and standard changed colours or not. my apologies. i still dont understand why, over the weekend, it changed colours and enabled the iespell to work. were you experimenting with something new? cos if so ,i for one preferred it. aloha
