When I'm online I get these pop-up messages from my Norton anti-virus that says,

'port scan blocked for 30 mins'

'subseven trojan bloacked for 30 mins'

and a few others. I've done a scan with norton and an online viruse scan but I still get it.

Anyone know what I can do?

Please follow all the steps in this Sticky thread < READ ME FIRST: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal >

If you already have any of the programs linked in the tutorial please double check your version to make sure you have the latest one and that you have any/all updates for the programs.

NOTE: In order to resolve the issues you are having it is very important that you at least try to perform all the steps as outlined. If you have any difficulty please post back letting us know what steps you have completed, what you found while doing the scans if anything and details about any problems you have encountered in completing the steps. The more details you can provide the better.

If still have problems after working thru the READ ME, we will most likely require a HijackThis log so read thru the below link but do not post a log until we ask for it.

I did everything in the read me thread and still have the same messages from Norton.

Okay! Post your HijackThis log as an attachment. Make sure you have the version we require (1.98.2) and put it into its own directory (do not run from the ZIP file or your desktop).

Why is this McAfee related program loading? You seem to be running a million things from Norton so why is McAfee here?
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [McAfee.InstantUpdate.Monitor] "C:\Program Files\McAfee\McAfee Shared Components\Instant Updater\RuLaunch.exe" /startmonitor

Run HijackThis and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - (no file)
    O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {A26ABCF0-1C8F-46e7-A67C-0489DC21B9CC} - (no file)
    O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: IMI - {A26ABCF0-1C8F-46e7-A67C-0489DC21B9CC} - (no file)
    O16 - DPF: {90C9629E-CD32-11D3-BBFB-00105A1F0D68} (InstallShield International Setup Player) - http://www.installengine.com/engine/isetup.cab

    Do you still have problems?

I did what you said and everything seems to be running fine right now.

I don't know about the McAfee I share this computer with my brother. So I get rid of that?

Did you or your brother use McAfee at one point in time? If so it does not appear to be used on your system anymore so there is no need for this program to run. It is a background task installed by McAfee VirusScan 6.x which automatically downloads antivirus updates whenever you connect to the Internet.

I would look for anything related to McAfee in Add/Remove programs and uninstall them. If that does not remove the line from your HijackThis log then run HijackThis and fix the line yourself.
