messenger service pop ups

    does anyone know how to stop the messenger service pop ups? Are these generated by windows (they look official)? Anyway, I have an anti-virus program and a personal version of Ad-Aware, and after quarenteening anything they detect, those nasty pop ups are always on.

    I guess we have to assume your using XP. Messenger service popups can be stopped by going to your control panel, administrative tools, services and scrolling down to Messenger, double click it, choose stop, then disable and close. If something is being quarintined, its not due to the messenger service, but odds are a virus. Please run the tutorial:
