Messenger Service wotsits

    Anyone got any idea how to stop the random messenger service messages i am getting? they are all junk mail type things but keep appearing on my screen? I have tried spybot and adware 6 but they dont seem to get rid of it?
    any ideas?

    you noticed as well Goldy..... this exploit must be become more of a problem.

    As im not on a network I disable many services that are not needed as a matter of course on each re-install so I dont generally become affected by these problems... but to NEW users to XP that are sometimes unaware of the fact that XP is built with networks in mind it can be a frightener to them.

    Kinda funny........When I first got my new computer with XP, and experienced the Messenger pop-up, I typed into my Search Box...........What the hell is this Messenger thing poping up on my new XP computer? Yielded me many sites telling me what it was, and how to disable it. One of the sites was MajorGeeks.com !!!!!!! And I've been coming here ever since !!
    Pretty emotional, isn't it ? :)
