Messy business

Ok, have a bit of a problem with my computer
Some time a go i erased my harddrive and reinstalled windows (From another computer), to my great suprise, the new windows couldnt reboot properly, instead it showed a errormessage saying "NTLDR missing", so, i erased the hardrive once again, but that didnt work.

so i tried to install it from the computer that the hardrive was supposed to be in, i tried with many dirfferent windows cds (98. 95, ME, XP) but it didnt work, so i thought that the IDE units wasnt properly plugged in. but no, I could find them in the bios.
After that i tried to chaging what unit was master/slave, but alas, no luck there either

So? do you think it might be the motherboard?
How can i check whats wrong?

Could be your memory is bad!!!! Run Memtest 86+ found here...

Click where it says...Memtest86 3.2 release...then click on the one that says...installable from windows and dos!! Save it to your computer...unzip it...then you use this download to create a bootable disk...once you do that...restart the computer, and...provided the bios is set to boot from floppy first, which it most likely will be...it will automatically load and start the testing upon reboot!! LEt it run for a good 3 or 4 passes, then simply take the disk out and reboot to discontinue testing!! Keep in mind...if you have more than one stick of memory in the system...you might have to remove and swap them out one at a time to narrow it down to which one is the guilty culprit!!

okl... i dont have a floppy disk, can i burn it to a cd? (if now my cdrom will read it)
