MG Downloads

k...this may be a dumb question, but in the downloads section does "Win All" mean that the install is compatible with all versions of windows?

Just want to make sure before I install something.

yes thats correct those downloads will be for Win All and that statment is added as many makers state that their software will work with all windows, however, do now double check as some of the software maybe old and as you know new versions of windows have come out, so some that state Win All may not be compatible with the likes of Vista, some older apps may not work even with XP.

With the amount of software thats listed on MGs its a long job to change that Win All statment and in the majority of cases we will hope that users who have tried the software nad it may not work with their chosen Windows version will feedback to us if it didnt install or work, each download has an option to report a link or you could use that to feedback that th esoftware doesnt work with a specific version.

also you may have noticed that their is a new compatibility link in CompatDB.org Project: to review or submit results, this is ongoing and with user input could be a great source of info to wether an app works with a specific windows version or any work-a-rounds found.

Your welcome Laura, never think a question is dumb its only dumb if you dont ask it! but seriously if you have any issues with software on the main site post a thread or contact an Admin or Moderator ( only if its a compatibility issue or none working link etc, tech help with the software do start a thread as their are many great folk here that can help ) we will help as much as we can.

 

No prob on the letting you all know. I've used a couple with no probs so far.

I'm going to try the sidebar you gave me a link to in the Lounge and rocketdock. So hopefully, they'll both work no prob.

Btw...this site is one of my fave now. I never thought I'd say I was glad for my false positive trojan my firewall provider came up with. But I found this place, so I'm good with it, and the 6 hours I spent on chaslang's 'Read and Run' all so he could tell me I was clean.
