MG Software Updater

Downloaded the updater and ran it only after disabling Panda A/V. All good with my programs but it listed 19 potential driver updates, mostly for Intel and mouse and keyboard and the like. Have run this Dell w/XP since 2004 (old huh) and once updated the mouse driver but wound up with some unwanted bloat and startups, hence rolled back to Microsoft original. Reluctant to update so many drivers as everything works fine and pc primarily used to web surf, store pics and burn some cds. How smooth is the process for the driver updates, and what issues can arise with the hardware? Really don't want to end up with additional software, etc.

 

As long as your computer is working the way it's supposed to, don't bother with the drivers. Good rule of thumb when it comes to drivers is "If it ain't broke, don't 'fix' it.". If you go to the Dell Support site, put in your Service Tag number and then go to the Drivers and Downloads tab, the ones listed there are the only ones you need.

Microsoft support for Windows XP will end on April 8, 2014 so at some point in the near future you'll need to update your OS to Vista or later. I'm currently in the process of doing that myself. Vista does an excellent job of configuring all but two of my devices and for the two devices it doesn't automatically configure my Dell supplied XP drivers work.

BTW, I use Secunia PSI for software updates. It updates software only.

Software has stopped working properly.

It's produced a runtime error.

When it does work it gives incorrect updates, wise360 is wrong and yowindow is wrong, I did see that version on warez sites and it's not around, 4.10 has never been produced.
