    Hi all,

I have the above system set up on 13gig partition. Thier is only 8% free space left.

Normally I just clear out the event logs and recoup enough space to keep running comfortably, but not this time.

All user data is in on a different partion. Is 13g just not enogh room for exchange and the server software or is something else clogging up the system???

    Any help greatfully accepted.

    Just a note

Program files takes up about 5.78 gig

    WIndows nt directory 1.96gig

Is it possible, I just need eceryone to clean out there mail boxes?

    Thanks

    Phil

mailboxes can be pretty big, by default though they are limited to a certain size - this may have changed though. if you check under the exchange management -> 'server name' -> first storage group -> mailbox store -> mailboxes. you can see the size of every individual mailbox & thus contact the appropriate user to make up a local pst file or somesuch on their pc.

Thanks, everybodys mail seems ok in size.

I am going to locate the pagefile.sys 1.5G on another disk.

Apart from that there is nothing else I can see taking up space?

Any other naintenance space clearing ides appreciated

id try the obvious things such as emptying temp folders etc. also could try stopping then restarting the exchange service or any virus protection you have running on the server - these ~can~ sometimes create large unnecessary cache files that are usually reset once the service is restarted.
Without knowing the specifics however thats about all i can suggest.
Usually when setting up a server, as well as having the user folders on a seperate partition or HDD its usually a good idea to have the exchange store (not the actual exchange program files but) on aseperate partition to the OS, such as the on your user files etc are on.

sorry couldnt be much more help.

    have you defragged lately?

Is it easy enough to re-locate the exchange files.
