Microphones Not Working In Windows 10

Hi everyone, thanks in advance for any help with this. My work laptop, a Dell XPS 13 running Windows 10, has a Logitech C930e webcam attached to it via USB connection. I also have a USB microphone attached via another USB connection.

Last week, both developed audio problems. The webcam no longer has any microphone/audio capabilities. When I use it in Zoom, or Microsoft Teams, etc., an error message will say that "no audio device detected" if I am using the C930e. Please note that the video feed works, just the microphone does not.

When I use the USB microphone, such as in Voice Recorder, it will record a very distorted (odd pitch) voice. I usually use the microphone via Dragon Dictation and the voice dictation ability is now badly degraded.

When I go into Windows 10's Sound Settings menu, and fiddle with the settings for Microphone: When set to the USB microphone, everything seems normal in the settings menu. (As mentioned, however, the recorded audio is very distorted). When set to the C930e webcam as the microphone, the Sound Settings menu will freeze.

When I connect either the USB microphone or the C930e webcam to another, older laptop also running Windows 10, everything works perfectly. Webcam video and audio; USB microphone audio.

I know that Windows 10 installed a host of system and driver updates the day or two prior to these problems. I considered doing a System Restore but the most recent such restore point is after the problems occurred.

Any suggestions for how to troubleshoot this? Thanks in advance!
