The last I have read is that Microsoft had not decided whether to sell "Microsoft Anti-Spyware" or continue as a freeware. I downloaded the new update, v1.0.614 and made a discovery. I clicked on Help, and then the "About" dialog and at the bottom of "About" is a "Diagnostics" button. I clicked on that and it generated a list of operating perameters for Anti-Spyware.

There are two lines of note in the list. On my list it states that:

Session - Time Bomb - Days remaining 189
Session - Time Bomb Experation, 12/31/05

I may be wrong, but to my way of thinking, it sounds like the "Time Bomb" may be the end of the "Freeware".

    What'cha all think?

Originally MS said that when the full version came out, they would offer it free to their MS customers, so if they have decided to get rid of it, then that would be surprising, since they are competing with AOL and other companies offering free AntiSpyware programs.

I heard it was going with OneCare, pricing to be determined.
