O.K. I downloaded the Microsoft Antispyware to my system and started using it. Recently I placed the Starcraft CD into my drive in order to install it (I recently reformatted), and my system froze up, everything went blue (BLUE LIGHT for the mammynuns) and then my desktop reappeared. Unfortunately, after this happend the Microsoft Antispyware icon is no longer in my system tray. I have tried using the utility itself, but the item is not checked, so it should appear. It is in the list as a past item. How do I get it to return to my sys tray, and while I am thinking about it, how do I remove other past items from the list? Thanks for all of the help!

Go to Start/Control Panel/Taskbar and Start Menu and select the Taskbar. Check the box that says "Hide inactive Icons" and then go to customize. You'll find dropdown menus to choose which programs you want to appear, and which you don't. Hope this is what you're looking for. :)

I found that part and I did all of those things, but nothing I change there has any effect. I restarted and that seemed to fix the problem. I uninstalled the program and that REALLY fixed the problem. Spyware Blaster, AdAware and Spybot should be enough I think. I would like to know how you delete the list of "past items" found under the customize option?
