I have a very long MS Excel spread sheet with thousands of rows and 18 columns. The columns are labeled at the top of the spread sheet. The problem is when I scroll down to view various rows I can’t see the labels at the top of the sheet. How do I make the labels static so they are always visible no matter how far down I scroll? I know this is possible, I just know how to do it. Thanks for your help.

Highlight the cell on the far left under the row you want to keep in view, and then go to

    Window - Split,

    or

    Window - Freeze Panes.

    See which suits you.

    Thanks guys that worked great.
Another question, can I freeze both horizontal and vertical cells at the same time?

Sure. Experiment. It depends on where you place the live cell when you freeze the panes.
