microsoft feeds

    I recently did a repair on my xp home desktop and an annoying pop up keeps coming up from windows saying --microsoft feeds information sorry for your inconveniance etc send report or dont send I dont have the internet on that computer so how do i get rid of it

    Hi

    Which IE version are you using?

    Also as you did a repair of XP, you may need to update to what version of IE you had before as some settings maybe left over from previous version as a repair doesnt always remove all the settings of a previous application,

    Could also in IE click Tools > Internet Options > Content and next to Feeds and WebSlices click Settings and untick the Automatically check feeds and webslices, or untick all the boxes in that menu list.

    Also make sure that if you have a 3rd party Firewall application that IE is allowed fully to pass the firewall protection.

    when i did the repair i didnt relise it would install ie6 that was having issue with the internet so i downloaded ie8 and some microsoft fixes and all is back to normal thanks everyone
