Microsoft Frameworks Versions

Just curious and hopefully simple ... I have microsoft .net frameworks in my Control Panel uninstall list (XP Pro) for both versions 1.1 and 2.0. Can 1.1 be deleted or is it supplemental to 2.0 and both should be kept?

 

You may have programs on your computer that were written with version 1.1 and others that were written with version 2.0. Best to keep them both.

There are three versions avialable for download as I recall, I have used programs that require it, but don't at the present time. The "Requires .Net Framework" gets me, any version in particular I wonder? That and the user account it adds to the PC. I am not that much into programing, the closest I get to programing is tweaking the Windows registry. And there always seems to be an alternative that doesn't require it. Just my nickels worth...
