Hi... I'm thinking of installing Home Edition, however, I heard I won't be able to
install it as many times as I want too? I run two hard drives & a number of partitions & I experiment frequently crashing my system. Needless to say I have to reinstall the operating system. Right now I have an Wiun98 SE CD and it's no problem. Could I do the same with Home Edition as with Win98??? Thx

As long as you legally own it. Yes you can. The only thing is you'll have to keep reactivating with MS each time. Which can get annoying but really isn't too long a process to do.

Thanks CoCo. I appreciate your quick response. I will buy the CD as I did with my Win98. Please tell me a little more about the reactivating process. Exactly what would I have to do? Thyanks!

Buy an "upgrade" version, rather than a "full" version. It will save you heaps of $$$$ as long as you have an original W98 CD, or the installer will check that you have an older version of Windows already installed.

Also, check out the prices for XP Home and XP Pro upgrade versions. There is little difference in price, here in OZ at least. In fact our local electrical/computer store sells the XP Pro "academic" upgrade cheaper than the XP Home upgrade. I'm sure someone reading this, in the USA, will recommend a place/website, to check out pricing. Bazza.

PS: A clean install, on a blank hard drive, is the best method (keep the old CD handy). Bazza
