   I'm Running windows XP and in device manager Under sound,video and game controllers is an unknown device with an explanation point nfront of it, When I try to install/update driver I get the following message:
   Can not install this hardware
   Microsoft Kernel GS Watetable Synthesizer
   there was a problem installing tthis hardware
   an error occurred during the installation of the device
   the data is invalid
   
   How do I correct this problem? TIA

   Did you install a sound card? If not, the sound might be on your motherboard so you need to install the chipset drivers.
