microsoft money 2005 vista ?

    hi,
    can i run this program on vista ? (money 2005 uk version) ran ok on my xp just checking before i try to install, where there any problems etc

    Hi

    I do know that another fellow Microsoft MVP in the area of Money ( Glyn Simpson ) did test from Money 2000 to latest version and all worked ok, although on some of the older versions and Money 2005 included, their was an issue on first run when it would say there was an update but you couldnt get it to install, to work around this you needed to right click the Money shourtcut and choose in Run as Administrator.

    well loaded ok, keep getting pop up to update didnt run that ? just closed it, will it now keep popping up? should i try to run the update any help,

    Hi

    You need now to as I mentioned run Money as an Admin, this is very different to running your admin user account, so close money if its open, then right click its shortcut and choose Run as Administrator and then see if it updates.

    did that, still comes up though, tells me now to log off then log back on as administrator !!! just have to keep closing the pop up i guess, any other ideas thanks

    Ran out of ideas to follow withot having Money 2005 to install ( need to get Money again ) so basically searched for an idea on MS Technet where most of the devs from MSFT have blogs and usually a fix, this seems a good route to take http://blogs.technet.com/jhoward/ar...rosoft-money-2005-uk-under-windows-vista.aspx

    Is your Vista fully upto date as the Compatability updates list I have, does indeed list Money 2005 being ok.

    thanks for the thread, vista up to date sp1 !! (even), still works just keep getting the pop up, also how do you turn that start up noise OFF !!! getting to me already. what happens if i try to download the said update, will it just not run, thanks for the advise
