Unable to load a new Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 3000 on my Dell Vostro 1500 laptop. It is running XP Pro. As soon as I insert the USB connector a BSOD appears saying in part "An attempt was made to execute a non-executable memory". I have loaded up-to-date drivers from Microsoft. Error codes returned are as follows: Ox000000FC, 0xBA50B8E8, 0x0ADC5963 and 0x 00000001. Any advice would be appreciated.

are you able to check and see if it works on a different computer? that would rule out a hardware issue.
