Microsoft .NET framework issues

ok so i was going to upgrade it but i uninstalled and forgot.. i did PC recovery and went back a few days and it made the computer fine.. but now i get an engine error when i start.. and my windows media center thing won't work anymore.. basically i did a cleaner thing to uninstall all of it.. and i tried to reinstall and it told me i was missing some folder path and to find it.. when i go to my control panel/add remove programs.. it says i have microsoft .net framework installed.. basically i need some advice on anyone who has went through this before.. sorry

Sadly with half the info as to whats going on and clear explanations as to what the error messages say *verbatim* then its hard for us to give you a clear fix,

What is your windows version?

Whats the engine error message?

What cleaner thing? if it was an software cleaner then what was it or explain more as to what you did?

What was the Folder Path it was after?

but also a quick fix for this could well be to re-install .Net, so first un-install it from Add/Remove, then goto Windows Update and click Custom and let it search for updates, and install all Security Updates and then any .Net ones it finds, once it has installed the updates, you maybe told to reboot, do so then go back to Windows Update and look for more, as their maybe a few updates to .Net.

Should be listed .Net 1.1, .Net 1.1 SP1, .Net 2.0 .Net2.0 SP1 but may need as I said to reboot after any earlier one was installed for Win Update to locate the next updates as int he SP1s
