Microsoft Office SP2 and .net 2.0

Well the download for SP2 is NOT intended for you other dial-up cavemen out there. What a nightmare, 2.5 hours of fun fun fun. I hope it is worth it.

If I downloaded .Net 2.0 from a Non-Microsoft site, will Microsoft not recognize it? When I completed the office download I noticed that Microsoft is saying that the .net 2.0 download is still available to me?

How can I check to make sure that .net 2.0 is actually on my system and that it is kosher?

As is always the case, I am eternally grateful for the help and patience with my newbieness.

 

the install for .net 2.0 should be listed in your add/remove programs.. if not, check

C:\windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\

and see if it's there.

 

It is listed in Add/Remove Programs as a Beta. I am guessing that they must have finished the testing and it is now ready to rock. I will have to check on that.

yeah, make sure you remove the beta FIRST before installing the new one.

 

Your version of it is newer than mine. That must be why they were offering the download. Dammit, another stinking all night download.
