Microsoft outlook- Out of office assistant

I have question about Microsoft Outlook.
Actually about “Out of Office Assistant”. When I go in Tools I can’t see this option on my menu in MO. I need this because I will be out of office and I want to set up my MO to gives automatically replay Out of office message. Do I have to install this utility? Can somebody help me how to do this?
Another question is about Microsoft Exchange. Can somebody explain me what exactly is? Can be stored only on e-mail server or and on local computer?

the Out of office assistant only works with clients connecting to MS-Exchange Servers. If you want to emulate it please read the following..

Thanks, this is what I was looking for. Just one more question. How can I , (like e-mail client), check if my e-mail server is running Microsoft exchange?

Basically if you using POP3 accounts you're not on exchange. It's primarily used in companies as an email server within a domain. If this is a personal home account then it's safe to say that it's not exchange.

 

This is for my office and we are using e-mails with domain, ( but our e-mail server is not in the office), and also we are using POP3 like incoming and SMTP like outcoming server…so I’m confused do we have MS Exchange or not?

Well, you can try this...

If it's already selected and you still don't see the option then you are not connecting to an exchange server. Alternatively , you can ask your IT dept if you are (just to be sure) .

 

I don’t see this option ( Exchange Extensions commands) , so I guess we don’t have MS Exchange…
